Connection Issues

Generally the main reason why you will not be able to connect to the FTP service is because you are behind a firewall of some sort, the security software on your machine is blocking the connection or your setting are not correct. To use FTP when behind a firewall ensure you have enabled the PASSIVE (PASV) mode option in your FTP client or Dreamweaver.

Also, you have to make sure that you are not placing http:// in front of the domain name when entering the host address.

Here are some screenshots of the correct settings you need to use:

In case you are using Dreamweaver FTP client, you will need to match the settings from the screenshot above when setting up you FTP. It is important that you do not place http:// prefix to FTP Host URL and you must select Use Passive FTP

Can't upload a template

Please note that the templates can not be uploaded using FTP. They need to be uploaded through the admin interface. Please click HERE to find out how this is done.

Can't upload a file

Is the file type allowed? Please have in mind that we do not allow certain file types to be uploaded. See the list on this page: FTP

Username does NOT fit in Microsoft or some other FTP Client

MS FTP doesn't fully comply with the FTP RFC (truncating username is just one of the many problems, along with not allowing '@' in a username)

I recommend you to use Core FTP[1] client, it's free and extremely reliable and works well with our system:
